Description

Also called Tulip Poplar, Yellow Poplar, and Whitewood.  A large tree of wood and parks. Grows over 100′ tall; produces a large quantity of nectar. Honey is dark, and very popular. Flowers are cup-shaped, 2-3” across, greenish with orange. Flowers sepals produce nectar, as well as the flower. Later in the season bees often collect honeydew produced by aphids feeding on the leaves. Tulip-shaped leaf.
